Working with Me

Let me introduce you to my camera and creative co-pilot, Joy.

She’s wildly friendly, always down for a dance break and has a gift for seeing the absolute best in everyone that enters her viewfinder. Photo sessions with us are about more than just the photos. Our intention is to create an empowering and celebratory experience with and for you.

COME AS YOU ARE

This is a space where you get to show up and BE YOURSELF. It’s about being seen and celebrated for who you are right now.

There’s no need to change or try to be anything you’re not. Who you are is already spectacular.

“Working with Leigh was nothing short of magical. The process is so much more than having a picture taken and edited for you. She does everything in her power to help you feel seen, supported and make the experience first class. You will walk away from working with her with not just amazing images, but as a transformed person from the experience.”

If You’re Feeling Some Nerves…

  • You are not alone, my friend. Being in front of the camera is a vulnerable experience for most people. When butterflies arrive, just know it’s all part of the process. And I get it— I’ve been there too :)

  • Let’s talk about it. For all my hour+ long sessions, there will be space for you to share where you’re at during our prep call and we’ll explore ways to support you during the session.

  • You’ve got me in your corner! I’m here to hype you up, guide you with creative direction, and answer the age old question: what heck do I do with my hands?

Erin Lucas

“I often feel awkward in front of the camera but Leigh made me feel so comfortable. She’s a really unique one-of-a-kind photographer. Her joy and love is contagious. I felt like I was just hanging out with her and the pictures naturally happened. It was surprisingly so FUN. She was great with cues and helping me relax too. The pictures turned out amazing and really reflect the true me.”

I’m here to dispel the myth that some people are photogenic and some people aren’t. It’s just not true.

The term “photogenic” implies something that’s stagnant. You either are or aren’t.

And yet over and over I’ve witnessed the transformation of people's confidence in front of the camera.

Starting out a bit shy and tentative, then finding some movement and flow, and all the sudden, BOOM! Fully shining their light. And that’s when the magic happens.

Because great photos are simply about YOU and your authentic expression.

Over the years I’ve had many people come to me and vulnerably share they’ve never had a photo of themselves they really liked.  All those years of disappointing pictures had them wondering if maybe they just weren’t photogenic. Flash forward to several weeks later and they were in complete awe, receiving a gallery full of photos they absolutely loved.

So if I don’t believe in the term photogenic, what do I believe in?

  • Courage. Are you willing to show up and be seen? It all starts with you, my friend.

  • Receiving Support. We get to do this together! As your photographer I’m here to cheer you on and offer queues to support your authentic expression.

  • Environment Matters. Together we’ll create a relaxed and celebratory space where you get to just be you.

  • Practice. Just like anything, the more opportunities you have to practice being in front of the camera, the more you learn, and grow, and build your confidence.
